Denver Climate Summary for August

With only one more day in the month of August and no precipitation expected in Denver let’s take a look at how August of 2012 compared to “normal”.  For the month DIA only reported 0.11″ of moisture which will place August of 2012 as 4th driest of all time and more than 1.50″ below normal.  Not good as we are now going into our “dry” season before the snow begins to fall.   Temperatures in August were abnormally warm and will likely be the 5th warmest of all time with an average temperatures just shy of 75 degrees.  Average highs for the month were right at 90 degrees with average lows near 59.  There were only 6 thunderstorm days during the month.
