Daily Precipitation Record Set for Denver (DIA)/Rainfall totals

Denver International Airport, the official reporting station for Denver reported 1.41″ of moisture yesterday which set a new daily precipitation record last set back in 1908 where 0.71″ of moisture was reported.  DIA has now tallied 2.95″ for the month 1.99″ above the normal monthly precipitation!  Most areas in Denver and surrounding suburbs only tallied 0.25-0.75″ of moisture yesterday.  More snow fell over the higher mountain peaks and when the clouds eventually clear the mountains to the west will be capped with snow.  The moisture as of late has been very beneficial but has fallen too late in the season to be of much help to the farmers on the eastern plains.  Drought still covers the state of Colorado and it will take much more moisture in the coming months to put a significant dent in our moisture deficit.  More rain showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop later today but will not be as widespread as previous days.  Below are some rainfall totals from across the state from Wednesday the 26th.
