Many locations in the central and northern mountains received snow from Friday and Saturday storm system that moved across the state.

Some amounts include:

Kremmling 2.1″

Keystone 1.7″

Frasier 0.8″

Vail 0.7″

Oak Creek 0.5″

Although the amounts are not high, they do reflect the change from the summer season to winter, with more snows soon to follow as we move later into October.  Satellite imagery Sunday morning clearly shows a wide areas of new snows stretching from the Colorado/Wyoming border south to west of Salida, with widespread snows visible from the Colorado/Wyoming border to the Aspen/Leadville areas.  Additional snow is visible on satellite imagery in the Telluride/Lake City/Creede area
