Upper Midwest Snow Totals December 4-5, 2017

A fast-moving low pressure system tracked across the Northern Plains on December 4th through early December 5th, bringing widespread snowfall and much colder temperatures to the Dakotas, Minnesota, and Northern Wisconsin/Michigan.  Listed below are some of the preliminary snow totals from the event.  The highest amounts were recorded in far northern Minneosta near the Lake of the Woods along the Canadian border.  The Minneapolis/St. Paul area also received some light snowfall.

December 4-5, 2017 Snow Totals:

  • 11.0″ – Roosevelt, MN
  • 9.0″ – Roseau, MN
  • 7.0″ – Holt, MN
  • 6.0″ – Sawyer, WI
  • 6.0″ – Saxon, WI
  • 3.8″ – Roseau, MN
  • 2.2″ – Grand Forks, ND
  • 2.1″ – Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN
  • 2.0″ – Aberdeen, SD
  • 1.4″ – Fargo, ND
